Yearbook Class 2 - Critique of 2011 Yearbook


Ideas
  • college fair

  • Some pages just don’t blend in; how there are too many picture son one page. The yearbook just looks jumbled together.

Here is your assignment for the day.

Get a copy of the Yearbook Final Pages Assessment sheet. Choose a person from the class who is not working on the same section as you. Complete a detailed assessment of your partner's page. Be critical and try to help your partner earn the best grade possible. Provide meaningful and critical suggestions and comments so that you're partner can improve his/her page.

If there is an odd group of students, you may work in a group of 3.

Share the assessment with your partner and don't lose it! I will collect them and give you credit on Monday.

For each of the photos shown below, write two different captions and explain how you would crop this photo to make it an engaging photo for the yearbook (would it be a close-up, a head shot, a large or small photo, etc). Email your responses to mccartneychs@gmail.com

2. Caption 2 should be an expanded caption. You can give a quote from the student or provide more information about the class, event or student.

Photography Overview

Objectives: Identify components of good photography; identify and demonstrate methods of cropping and improving photography; analyze photography

Today: Photo Guidelines overview
Continue tagging and sorting photos online. Each person should be signed in on yearbookave and have done work. Eliminate photos that are not compelling or fall in to one of the "bad photograph" categories.
Continue working with your group to begin organizing and outline your photos.

Monday, September 27

Today, everyone needs to continue working on uploading, tagging and sorting photos online! There are folders set up for each year, as well as some for different clubs. Photos that are doubles need to be deleted from the system.

This week, we will be spending time learning how to create pages and copping photos. You will be required to design a practice page.
